ai and big corps
The internet should be personal , you should make you're own stuff , you should consume stuff personal to you.
Own what you consume.
The internet should be full of creative things , not artifical , not what big corps want you to see , it should be things with stories , personality , soul. What you see should resonate with you , not something you block out when it comes on screen , it should be things with human imperfections.
We can't let the ai advance , it's getting harder to tell the difference each day , and you can't fall for big corporations marketing , they know that if they market their products as human made they will get the attention of people who are against ai. Settle for small and/or local businesses , just because they are small doesn't mean they're bad. Don't let big corp and gen ai tell you what to enjoy , what to make , don't let them shape the future of what is made on the internet. It doesn't matter if you think no one will see your website , it will be found by someone who wanted to see it. Popularity is overrated , it's better to have true friends than a lot of friends.
Big corporations are ruining life outside of the interenet as well , all these
animals are endangered or at risk due to human caused disasters , such as global warming , polution , oil spills , deforestation. And now with AI datas centers now consuming 5 mil gallons per day , which is equivilant to the amount of water a town of 10k-50k people uses in a similar amount of time is just an insane thing to think but-
-It's real life.
To put that in perspective my home city has a population of around 105,000 people, an AI data center consumes half the amount of water people in my city do in a daily.
prejudice and hatred
I live in the south , as told in my about me , and the south has a running stereotype that most , or even all people who live in the south are racist or discriminate based on uncontrollable things , and as a teenager who has lived here for all fourteen of my years alive I have one thing to say about the stereotype-
-it's true , not that I enjoy the fact it's true or something along similar lines , if anything I hate it because if you didn't come to the conclusion already , I'm a major minority with the fact im neither straigh , nor cis , nor pure-white so of course I am the perfect target towards discrimination.
Get this though , my county is one of the most diverse in my state , with majority of the residence being of latin descent and the runner up being african-americans , but I suppose most of the times it's jokes between people because most of the discriminative comments made towards me were by people I would consider friends , or at least people I talk to a fair amount of time , they were never made by someone who I didn't know. With this being said I came to the conclusion that I truely don't know "real" racism / discrimination , because if there were real prejudice the people who made the remarks to me would be in the same pool as me.
This brings me to my next point of discussion , can a minority be prejudice? Well , of course , I've met many people who hate another marginalized groups , examples being :
- asians who hate african-americans
- latinxs who hate jews
- lesbians who hate transgender people
And these are just the simple , broad examples , sometimes the hate is micro and deep , like sometimes its even from the same group of people towards the same type of people , if you're latinxs you can relate to the fact that people who share your heritage could / would make remarks about your skin color because like other races , latinxs people skin tone can range from light to dark , and be called different nicknames relating to the color of your skin.
